No, My Brother…You’ve Got To Buy Your Own
August 23, 2003 | 6:12 amAttention! The results of a new study by the Committee for Telephone Equality has recently been released. It seems that not only are the majority of people in America who have had their phones disconnected Black, but these same people feel most comfortable returning to telephonic access by joining up with various assorted “phone companies” who are adept at creating mind-numbingly condescending commercials which talk to the pure soul (and baby daddy/mama) in all of us.
On the flip side, a different study reports that the even larger group of American White folk who have had their phones disconnected…still have their phones disconnected. When asked to comment, their spokesman expressed dismay at the lack of condescending commercials which speak to the true broke-ass-ness of his people. Let’s hope we see a ‘phone’ commercial featuring Christopher Titus sometime soon!
