New Swiss army knife…now with Stem Cell research!
November 28, 2004 | 8:39 amCrossed fingers and big thumbs up for the Swiss referendum on stem cell research. What a concept…instead of bulling your public into what you believe, you actually put it to a vote and ask them about it.
(Not that it’s always a good idea to put everything to a vote. Sometimes what best for the whole isn’t always full comprehended within their little grey cells. But at least it’s interesting to see the people really given a true democratic voice, at a national level with frequency, somewhere in the world…)
Here’s hoping that there’s a positive result. The more countries that begin stem cell research, the more difficult it will be for the US to continue to ignore it. The minute something substantial is cured because of the research, most Americans will change their tunes rather quickly…
Update: The Swiss people have voted overwhelmingly to approve stem cell research. Bravo! ^_^
