Tokyo Trip: Engrish (aka Chip Chip MotherFucker)
February 17, 2008 | 6:26 pmYes, folks. Engrish, not English.
Engrish: The funny / incorrect way English is used in ads and on products in Japan.
Example: Introducing the highest in hat fashion in Harajuku (or maybe it was Ueno…)

(Yes. Chip Chip MotherFucker!)
For more gems of f’ed English, check out the classic Engrish website.
Addendum: Looks like DSquared is a Canadian company. So, the hat only has the smell of Engrish, not the reality. ^^

When I went on a trip to Japan in May of ‘07 I saw these in a bunch of places (ueno also) but i wondered what it meant.
I thought it was hilarious and I nearly bought a hat. However I still don’t understand it… Is it a misspelling / mis-context of something else? Some gangster phrase that I’m not aware of? Or is it some kind original engrish that doesn’t make sense to begin with?
