Good Fight, Mr. Gore

December 6, 2000 | 12:50 am

Looks like Gore’s number is just about up. I’ve had no problem with Gore dragging things out as far as he could. Considering the man actually won the national popular vote, I think he has every right to prove his ‘electoral college-ness’. I believe that he probably won Florida, but it doesn’t looks like he’s going to be able to prove it. Congrats America…the person you voted for to be your president will not be taking that oath in January. Al Gore voters…your vote did not count. Don’t look the other way these next four years..support the anti-electoral congress movement! And no, these are not the writings of a ’sore loser’. These are the writings of someone who believes everyone’s vote should actually count…who just happen to vote for Nader. ^_^

I can laugh if I want to…

November 14, 2000 | 1:25 am

"And the beat goes on…" More vote counting…More spin…More whining. I’m thankful I’m able to watch all this completely from the sidelines. Voting third certainly helped. ^_^ It’s very amusing listening to the national and local talk radio hosts. Only the centrists seems to be thinking clearly. Those favoring either side seem to be blowing a gasket every hour on the hour. One host even demanded that there should be a march on Washington on inauguration day if "Gore steals this election". *laugh* Well, I hope the kids are paying attention. They’re getting an amazing lesson in civics, including plenty of shiznit that wouldn’t even show up in college texts.

Election Insanity = Happiness!

November 9, 2000 | 1:27 am

*stretch* Ahh…My dream is coming true! Go-Tongue is leading in the popular vote and Dubbaya will probably win the recount in Florida and win the electoral vote. Congratulations America..the person you voted for to be your president won’t be in the White House for the next four years. All due to an antiquated and flawed election system. I really hope America doesn’t forget about this and does the right thing. What would be a good term for this type of President…Pseudo-Pres? Electoral-Pres? Brides Maid Who Ran Off With the Groom Pres? ^_^

This election also showed how ridiculously ancient the local level election system is….same style ballots for decades (I never liked the push-pin style)…Bags of ballots showing up a day late…People being turned away from polls because they ran out of ballots or the lines were too long. And while they haven’t mentioned it, I always wondered how election workers got their jobs..what requirements they had to meet. Any background checks there? Prove that these ladies might not be on the take (or suffering from something that could hamper their work)? I always thought that the lack of security at polling centers was amazing…for such an important task, that’s been rife with fraud all over the world, to not have any decent security here in the states. Makes me wonder how much fraud happens with each American election.

I just loved watching the election coverage after 8pm. To call Florida for Gore so early was incompetent, especially after polls there showed it was going to be very close (I’ll throw Michigan in with that too). And it made watching the returns very amusing, especially when Bush was leading in Florida even after 50% of the precincts in.

A forgers paradise! At least here in Summit County, Ohio. No ID was necessary to vote. All you had to do was to give them your John Hancock and have them compare it with the original one you gave when you registered. They didn’t even cover up the original signature! Anyone who could do spot signature forgeries could have had a field day!

Local Election Fundage

November 1, 2000 | 12:00 am

I wonder if the two major political parties have concentrated extra money here in Summit County. The number of political TV ads has skyrocketed since the last election…the total so far equals the past three major elections combined. And they contain such venom…who would have thought it would be necessary to be that vicious at a local level…with judges and city engineers no less. Congrats local politicians…you’ve developed kintama that’ll support you well if you decide to go onto higher political office.

Don’t waste your vote: Crap is an acceptible alternative?

October 28, 2000 | 1:36 am

I love how the Go-Tongue people are pleading with the Nader supporters. “You’re going to put Bush in the White House with your vote”…”You’re throwing away your vote!”. Sounds very familiar…very reminiscent of the original Bush pleading with Perot supporters in ‘92. The battle cry of the desperate and the pathetic. Sorry, Mr. Gore. If you lose the presidential race, you have only yourself to blame. You couldn’t convince enough people you’re worthy to be president, so you’re blaming someone else for your political inadequacies. “You amuse me, Mr. Bon..err, Gore” ^_^

The only way you can ‘throw away’ your vote is if you don’t vote at all. I appreciate Mr. Nader’s stand to keep with the campaign instead of bowing out in order to help Gore along. A third party will never achieve true respectability in the general populous if they bow out to the political establishment every time they cry: “Mommy! He’s taking my votes!”. Standing firm might cause the less desirable of the two main candidates to be elected…it’s just something that’ll have to be sacrificed a few times in order make a third party a truly viable option for the general populous.

On a side note: If the polls are in a dead heat on election day, take the evening poll results with a grain a salt. They’ll jump the gun on those ‘close’ states to try to predict a winner before people go to bed. Just wake up the next morning and find out who’ll be evicting Slick Willie.

Take My Electoral Congress…Please!

October 16, 2000 | 1:41 am

When I was younger, I made up of list of things I wanted to do sometime during my lifetime. I was on a very political bend at the time, so I focused on the fallacy of the outdated electoral congress. The possibility that (even in a two man race) the candidate who won the popular vote could still lose the election because the other candidate won more electoral votes…I was disgusted that such faulty process of such an important nature was still in practice in this day and age. I vowed to figure out some way to have the process removed from the American scope…the popular vote is the only thing that should matter. Of course that was back when I had more respect for the executive branch and less knowledge about the workings of the presidential post…

I still think the electoral congress is worthless and even possibly dangerous. I always thought it would take someone losing the election, but actually winning the popular vote, for the people to be incensed enough to ‘force’ congress to remove the electoral congress…

…And it looks like we might be able to see such an event soon. The current election is so close that such a situation might take place. Picture it…Dubbaya wins the popular vote, while Go-Tongue wins the electoral vote and becomes president. I’d imagine more than just the republicans would be up in arms about that.

Mmmm…the election just got more interesting for me…^_^

Need a Green Straw for my Mellow Yellow

October 8, 2000 | 1:46 am

While going to see Nurse Betty (see it soon before it leaves the theatres), I came across a grave injustice of the pseudo-political process. General Cinema is holding a “Straw Poll” at their concession stands all across America. You have two choices…for your drinking pleasure, you must select either a Gore straw or a Bush straw in order facilitate the quenching of your thirst.

Where’s my Green straw? Nader doesn’t warrant refreshment attention? Word has it that they didn’t want to give Ralph all those Goobers if he came up with 5% of the straw vote. It’s truly a sad day for America…

"What about me? What about Nader?"
(Wonder if anyone will get that joke…)

Choose None of the Above

September 27, 2000 | 1:53 am

It seems that the man who invented the internet, Vice President Go-Tongue, has a very interesting memory. He announced to union workers that he remember his parents singing the “union label” song to him as a lullaby. Touching and timely, ne? Go-T was 27 years old when that song came out…and now he claims he was just joking. BZZZZ! Thanks for playing, Go-T. Do not pass go..do not collect 200 dollars.

This “Stupidity in Politics” moment brought to you by Jei’s “None of the Above” campaign. “Tired of the Republicrats? Two party system getting you down? Vote for None of the Above! Pick a third party!”

Third Party Links:
Green Party: Ralph Nader for President
Libertarian Party: Harry Browne for President
Natural Law/Independent Party: John Hagelin for President

Second Degree Subliminal Rodents

September 12, 2000 | 2:01 am

RATS! George Dubbaya and the No Sense Soldiers committed another error as they round the bases on their way to third. Dubbaya-chan…I know plenty of video folk who could do a much better job of subliminal advertising than whoever has that job with your No Sense Soldiers. Lemme know if you’re interested…I’m sure any of them can work “Major League Asshole” into a future commercial too.

Dubbaya and Go-Tongue (Gore) are so pathetically amusing…I’m glad they gave me such an easy path towards NOT voting for either of them.
